Lovely painting Andy! Did you do this with Painter pastels? We've got seven little lambs at the moment, ours are dorpers though.
Thanks again Michelle. This is all just Photshop CS with a Wacom Graphire 4 tablet.
The pastel effect was discovered by accident when I started messing with the various brush settings. Turning on "Dual Brush" and using two different stipple brushes and messing with the size and spacing sliders gives this result.
